Oriana Favaro is renowned for her vocal and stage versatility, aspects she navigates throughout various repertoires with equal skill, presenting herself as a singer who impresses both with her vocal abilities and her sensitivity as an actress.
A light lyric soprano born in the province of Buenos Aires, she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Art History at the University of Buenos Aires while simultaneously studying at the Instituto Superior del Arte del Teatro Colón and being a fellow at the Opera Studio of the Teatro Argentino de la Plata. She is currently completing her Bachelor's degree in Singing at the Universidad de las Artes and is also pursuing a specialization in Baroque at the UdK (Universität der Künste, Berlin).
A regular artist at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, she embodies prominent roles such as Olympia in Les contes d'Hoffmann, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Adina in L'elisir d'amore, Elvira in L'italiana in Algeri, Hadewijch in De Materie, Sophie in Werther, and the Maid in the opera Powder her face.
Her performances extend to the most prestigious theaters in Latin America, such as Teatro Mayor and Teatro Colón in Bogotá, Palacio de las Artes in Belo Horizonte, and Municipal de Sao Paulo in Brazil, as well as Teatro Conjunto de Artes Escénicas in Guadalajara and Teatro Solís in Montevideo. In Europe, she has also graced the stages of the Opera of Metz and Reims in France.
Favaro sings some of the most important roles for her vocal range, such as Lucia di Lammermoor, Gilda (Rigoletto), Cunegonde (Candide), Norina (Don Pasquale), Corinna (Il viaggio a Reims), the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Marie (La fille du régiment), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette), Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Nannetta (Falstaff), Frasquita (Carmen), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), and Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), to name a few.
Her repertoire also includes oratorios, masses, Lieder, French songs, and Renaissance and Baroque works.
Among her upcoming commitments, stands out her participation in Christian Marclay's work No at Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires as part of the Festival Ruido, and the role of Elena in the Argentine opera La ciudad ausente by composer Gerardo Gandini at Teatro Colón.
