Born in Valencia (Spain), Laia Vallés pursued her studies in Vocal Performance at the "Joaquín Rodrigo" Superior Conservatory of Music in her hometown, and in Piano, Viola, and theatrical interpretation with actor and director Alejandro Carvallo. Subsequently, she became a member of the opera studio at the Staatsoper Stuttgart and currently serves as a member of the ensemble at the Aachen Opera in Germany.
She furthered her training with lessons from Mariella Devia, Luciana Serra, Celso Albelo, Ana María Sánchez, and Evghenia Dundekova, refining her operatic repertoire under the guidance of Maestro Daniel Gil de Tejada and pianists Alessandro Amoretti and Giulio Zappa.
Among the various awards she has received, notable distinctions include the Best Spanish Singer and Audience Prize at the Tenor Viñas Competition 2022, as well as the Most Promising Voice Award at the "Ciudad de Logroño" competition.
Her repertoire encompasses titles such as Die Zauberflöte (Papagena), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), Le nozze di Figaro (Barbarina), Così fan tutte (Despina), Carmen (Micaëla y Frasquita), Les enfants terribles, Platée, Der Schauspieldirektor (Frau Silberklang), Hänsel und Gretel (Sandmännchen), Die Verurteilung des Lukullus (segunda Ausruferin), Les contes d’Hoffmann (Antonia), The Fairy Queen (Second fairy and Juno), L'elisir d'amore (Gianetta) and La Cenerentola (Clorinda).
In the symphonic realm, she performs as a soloist in Mozart's Coronation Mass, Dvorak's Te Deum, Mozart's Requiem, and Handel's Messiah.
This season, as part of her commitments with Aachen, she will debut the roles of Musetta in La Bohème, Corinna in Il viaggio a Reims, and the leading role in the opera Zaïde. Additionally, she will soon perform the role of Adina in L'elisir d'amore at the Burgos Lyric Festival.
