Jaquelina Livieri is considered one of the most important sopranos in Argentina, thanks to her continuous presence in the leading theatres of South America.
A lyric coloratura soprano born in Rosario, she graduated from the Superior Institute of Arts at Teatro Colón. Awarded in numerous competitions, notable among them are the International Competition of Teatro Colón and the National Lyric Singing Competition "Enrique R. Francovigh”, both in Argentina, the International Festival of Lyric Singing "Ciudad de Trujillo" (Peru), the International Festival "Laguna Mágica" (Chile), and the Competizione Dell’Opera in Linz (Austria).
Since her debut at the age of 16 at the Teatro El Círculo in her hometown, her career has followed a progressively upward trajectory, leading her to perform the leading operatic roles in her repertoire. Among the numerous titles she undertakes, notable ones include Turandot (Liù), Carmen (Micaela), Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi), Ainadamar (Margarita), Don Pasquale (Norina), Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), Le nozze di Figaro (Susanna), La Bohème (Musetta), Falstaff (Nannetta), Werther (Sophie), La Traviata (Violetta), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), Fidelio (Marcellina), Written on Skin (Agnes), and Le Comte Ory (Adele), among others. She has performed in renowned venues across South America such as the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the National Opera of Chile, the Palácio das Artes in Belo Horizonte, and the Teatro Municipal in Sao Paulo (Brazil), as well as the Teatro Solis in Uruguay, the Opera of Colombia, and the Gran Teatro Nacional in Peru. In Italy, she has graced stages at the Teatro Comunale in Modena, the Municipale in Piacenza, and the Teatro Amintore Galli in Rimini and in United Kingdon, at the Welsh Natiunal Opera. In Spain, she has performed at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Calderón in Valladolid, and Campoamor in Oviedo.
With a busy concert activity, her extensive repertoire includes pieces by composers such as Mahler (Symphonies 2, 4, and 8), Beethoven (Symphony No. 9 and Egmont), Mozart (Requiem and Great Mass in C minor), Pergolesi (Stabat Mater), and Puccini (Messa di Gloria), among many others.
She has been conducted by prestigious orchestra conductos such as Evelino Pido, Roberto Paternostro, Nicola Luisotti, Daniel Oren, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Ira Levin, Marc Piollet, Óliver Díaz, Joseph Colaneri, and directed by stage directors like Kasper Holten, Franco Zeffirelli, Davide Livermore, Hugo de Ana, Emilio Sagi, Marcelo Lombardero, etc.
Among her most recent engagements are her debut as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro Colón and her first collaboration with Ópera de Tenerife in the zarzuela Adiós a la bohemia. She also returned to the Teatro Real with Ariane et Barbe-Bleue by Paul Dukas, and made her debut at the Teatro de la Zarzuela as part of the Ambigú series with the recital Canciones sin patria, together with the pianist Matías Chapiro.
In the near future, Livieri will return to the stages of Modena, Piacenza, and Ravenna to perform the role of Micaëla in Carmen, and will also return to the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires with I Capuleti e i Montecchi (as Giulietta) and Les contes d’Hoffmann (as Antonia).
