Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain), Blanca Valido began her musical studies in the youth choir of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria, completing them at the Superior School of Singing in Madrid, with the Lola Rodríguez de Aragón end-of-degree award. She received lessons from renowned figures such as Mirella Freni, Illeana Cotrubas, Dolora Zajick, Jaume Aragall, among others.
She participates in various competitions, such as the Alfredo Kraus International Singing Competition (finalist), and she receives the Ángel Vegas scholarship awarded by the Juventudes Musicales de Madrid.
Valido begins her career by making her debut as the Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte, followed by significant roles in operas such as Così fan tutte, Rinaldo, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Il Trovatore, La Traviata (Flora), Gianni Schicchi, Rigoletto (Maddalena), María Moliner, Trouble in Tahiti (Dinah), Madama Butterfly (Suzuki), L'enfant et les sortilèges ... and zarzuelas like La verbena de la Paloma, La Revoltosa, Casado y soltero, Los claveles, La Dolorosa, and El cantar del arriero. She has performed in prestigious national venues such as the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, the Teatro Pérez Galdós and Cuyás in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Villamarta in Jerez, the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín, Manuel de Falla in Granada, among others.
She performs both solo and in shows with a diverse repertoire in venues such as the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, L’Auditori in Barcelona, the Kursaal in San Sebastián, Baluarte in Pamplona, the Auditorio in Zaragoza, Miguel Delibes in Valladolid, Palacio de Congresos de Castilla y León, and the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria. Additionally, she is part of three zarzuela and Korean song tours in prominent auditoriums in Tokyo (Japan) and throughout the geography of South Korea, including the prestigious Seoul Arts Center.
In symphonic, her repertoire includes works such as Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem and Donizetti's and Verdi's Requiem, Rossini's Stabat Mater, Mozart's Exultate Jubilate and Mass in C major, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, and Bach's Cantata BWV 179.
This season she will return to the Ópera de Tenerife to perform again the role of Dinah from Trouble in Tahiti.
