Joven barítono peruano, Alejandro Sánchez estudia en la Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid. Entre los galardones que obtiene destaca el primer premio del Concurso Internacional de Canto Ciudad de Logroño 2023. Participa en L’Accademia Rossiniana bajo la guía del Maestro Ernesto Palacio y más recientemente, en el Centre de Perfeccionament of the Palau de les Arts.
His repertoire includes roles such as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Escamillo and Morales in Carmen, Germont and Baron Douphol in La Traviata, Sharpless and Il Commissario Imperiale in Madama Butterfly, Don Alvaro and Don Prudenzio in Il viaggio a Reims, Sam in Trouble in Tahiti, Orphée in Orphée by Philip Glass, and Steuermann in Tristan und Isolde. In the Spanish lyrical genre, he performs Vidal in Luisa Fernanda and Diego in Don Gil de Alcalá. Among other halls, he collaborates with the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, and the Teatro Real.
In oratorio and lieder, he sings Bach's Cantata No. 21 and Magnificat, Handel's Messiah, Fauré's Requiem, Brahms' Neue Liebeslieder Waltzes, Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, Manuel García's Misa No. 1, and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, among others, in venues such as the Festival of Early Music in Úbeda and Baeza, and the International Festival of Sacred Art of the Community of Madrid.
Alejandro Sánchez will soon make his debut in the 24/25 season of the Ópera de Oviedo, singing the role of Amonasro in Aida.
