Born in Torrevieja (Alicante), Alberto Ballesta begins his studies of singing, piano, musical language, harmony and theatre in his hometown, finishing the Professional Singing Degree at the Professional Conservatory of Ontinyent with the highest marks and the extraordinary final grade prize. Subsequently, he obtains a higher degree in singing at the Valencia Conservatory of Music 'Joaquín Rodrigo'. He is currently perfecting his skills with Raúl Giménez.
Among his different awards, the prize for the best Valencian singer at the III Martín i Soler International Singing Competition and winner of the Mirna Lacambra Competition 2019 for which he participates in the performance of La Cenerentola in Sabadell, singing the role of Don Ramiro stand out.
In addition to participating in different masterclasses, he receives classes from artists and teachers of the stature of Rockwell Blake, Ernesto Palacio, Carlos Chausson, Alberto Zedda, José Miguel Pérez-Sierra and Fiorenza Cedolins, among others.
He begins his professional career with performances such as a concert with maestro Eduardo López Banzo in the Ciclo de Músicas Históricas de León de CNDM, and again La Cenerentola in Milan, Parma and Turin (2020) with the Scuola dell'Opera Italiana of Fiorenza Cedolins. He also participates in the I Barcelona Rossini Opera Festival singing in the opening Gala and performing the role of Conte Alberto in the opera L'occasione fa il ladro, and in the Rossini & Co. concert of the Belcanto Akademie of the Rossini in Wildbad Festival, both in 2021.
In the operatic field he plays the characters of Conte d'Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Bastian in Mozart's opera Bastien und Bastienne, Don Basilio and Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro, Oronte in Handel's Alcina, Oberon in Purcell's The Fairy Queen, Alfred in Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Normanno in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Borsa in Verdi's Rigoletto and Tony in Bernstein's West Side Story. Most recently, he debuts the roles of Beppe in Pagliacci at the Festival Lírico de Burgos and Goro in Madama Butterfly at the operatic season of Tenerife.
In the zarzuela genre, he participates in the world premiere of Wagener's El carillón de brujas with maestro Cristóbal Soler, in Barbieri's El barberillo de Lavapiés (Don Luis) and in Vives' Bohemios (Roberto).
His oratorio repertoire includes Mozart's Requiem, Bach's Magnificat, Haendel's Messiah, Te Deum Utrecht and Theodora, Vivaldi's Magnificat and Pau Casals' Pessebre. He also performs the Lied cycles Dichterliebe by Schumann and An die ferne Geliebte by Beethoven.
