The young soprano Maria Isart, a native of Barcelona, was introduced to the performing arts and classical music from an early age. It was, however, only some years later that she embraced the calling to devote herself professionally to singing. During her studies at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona, she joined the Orfeó Català Youth Choir, where she had the privilege of working under such distinguished conductors as Simon Halsey and Gianandrea Noseda.
She has also taken part in masterclasses with artists of the stature of Luciana Serra, Marina Rebeka, Mariella Devia, Carlos Álvarez, Ernesto Palacio, Roberto Servile, Ana Luisa Chova and Massimo Iannone, to name but a few.
Among the distinctions she has received are two awards from the prestigious Tenor Viñas International Competition, the Ferrer i Salat Foundation Prize in 2023, and the Extraordinary Prize of the Amics del Liceu in 2024.
Thanks to these honours, she was granted a scholarship by the Richard-Wagner-Stipendienstiftung in Bayreuth, through the Wagner Club of Barcelona, enabling her to take part in the foundation’s international programme for young talents, which includes training residencies and attendance at the city’s renowned festival.
Although her career is still at an early stage, she has already appeared in several productions, most notably in Domenico Cimarosa’s opera Il convito, where she performed the role of Lisette.
A regular collaborator at the LIFE Victòria Festival in Barcelona, she has also been awarded a scholarship by the organisation for the 2024/25 season and is taking part in its "New Artists" programme, performing alongside the bass Günter Groissböck.
