Born in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Spain) in 1996, this young bass studies at the Cristóbal de Morales Conservatory in Seville and continues his training under the guidance of masters such as Luciano Miotto, Vladimir Chernov, and Ildebrando d'Arcangelo, to name a few.
Gonzalo Ruíz commenced his professional career as a soloist in 2021, taking part in the opera studio organized by the Vienna Opera Academy, where he sang the role of Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at venues including Musikverein, Mozarthaus, Palais Palffy, and Palais Eschenbach. Since then, he has added titles such as La Traviata (Grenvil), Don Giovanni (Commendatore, Sabadell), and Rómeo et Juliette (Frère Laurent, Sabadell) to his repertoire, among others.
In 2023, he became part of the "Crescendo" project by the association Friends of the Teatro Real Foundation. His collaboration with the Madrid coliseum enabled him to take part in the production of Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian Carlo Menotti at the Real Teatro del Retiro, and more recently, in the scenic premiere of the opera Tenorio by Tomás Marco.
