Serena Pérez 

mezzo-soprano 


Born in Gijón (Asturias), Serena Pérez graduates from the Professional Conservatory of Music in her hometown. Later she moves to Amsterdam where she finishes her higher degree training in singing at the Conservatory of the Dutch capital and, as a master's degree, at the Academy of the Dutch National Opera.


During this period, she participates in various operatic productions in the Netherlands and Spain ... Orfeo by Monteverdi (Esperanza), Suor Angelica by Puccini (Abadesa), Cendrillon by Massenet (Haltière), The rape of Lucretia by Britten (Bianca), Così fan tutte by Mozart (Despina) and the title role of Radamisto by Haendel, among others, under great influence conductors in Holland like Ed Spanjaard and also on stage like Maria Riccarda Wesseling.

Awarded in different competitions, she gets the Teatro de la Maestranza prize in the International Singing Competition Ciudad de Logroño and therefore, she will debut the 19/20 season at the Sevillian coliseum in Agrippina, conducted by Enrico Onofri.

Her symphonic repertoire include works by Beethoven (Fantasy op.80 and Ninth Symphony), Bach (Mass in F major, several Cantatas and Saint Matthew Passion), Charpentier (Te Deum), Mozart (Requiem), Saint-Säens (Christmas Oratory) and Pergolesi (Stabat Mater).
