Rising french soprano Norma Nahoun studies singing in Paris and at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. She is the laureate of several international competitions (Grand Prix of the French melody in Toulouse, Hans Gabor Belvedere in Vienna, contest DEBUT in Germany). She participates in the academies of the Verbier Festival and the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
From 2012 to 2014, she is a member of the 'ensemble' of the prestigious Semperoper Dresden where she sings roles such as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, Didone in Domenico Sarro's L'impresario delle canarie, Philidel in King Arthur by Purcell, Die Königin in Das geheime Königreich of Křenek and Frasquita in Carmen.
Her ascending career takes her to the main opera houses in France ... Montpellier (Peer Gynt and Querub by Massenet), Toulouse (La Rondine), Nancy (Orphée et Eurydice, L'Etoile de Chabrier and La Rondine), Tours (Falstaff, Philémon et Baucis by Gounod and Das Land des Lächelns by Lehár), Limoges (Peer Gynt), Saint-Étienne (Fortunio by Messager), Angers (Hänsel und Gretel), Nantes (Hänsel und Gretel), Avignon (Das Land des Lächelns and Le nozze di Figaro) and Metz (El teléfono and Amelia al ballo, both by Menotti).
She debuts at the Opéra National de Paris in May 2015 as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte.
Outside her native country, Norma Nahoun participates in prestigious festivals such as Edinburgh and the Mozart Festival in New York and in seasons such as Geneva, playing the role of Colette de Le devin du village by Rousseau, or Salzburg with The balcony of Jakob Lenz. Highlight her collaborations with formations such as the Bayerische Rundfunk Orchester (Cinq-Mars by Gounod in Munich, Vienna and Versailles, conducted by Ulf Schirmer), Budapest Festival Orchestra (Le nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte in concert, under Ivan Fischer), National Orchestra of Lyon (A midsummer night's dream by Mendelssohn, conducted by Leonard Slatkin), among others.
She keeps an important activity in the symphonic field. Her repertoire includes Requiem by Mozart (Budapest Orchestra with Ivan Fisher), Requiem by Fauré (Mahler Chamber Orchestra), Petite messe solennelle by Rossini, Cantatas by Bach and Graupner, Stabat Mater by Pergolessi, Symphony No. 4 by Mahler and Goethe-Lieder by Fazil Say (Stuttgart Kammerorchester).
Recent engagements are Die Tote Stadt (Toulouse), La finta pazza de Sacrati (Dijon, Geneva and Krakow), Die Zauberflöte in Rennes, Erismena by Cavalli (Luxembourg), Carmen (Dijon) and the resumption of her recital 'The flowers of man' at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris, which she has also performed in Venice and Berlin. Also the works Inondation at Opéra Comique in Paris, Don Giovanni in Saint-Étienne and Die Zauberflöte in Nantes.
Next future will bring her again to Limoges (Peer Gynt) and she will debut at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon (Erismena).
